Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is developing at an unprecedented rate. Innovations in computer-basedvision, speech recognition and natural language processing are all features in today’s technology. Butwhat of the future? Is A.I a technological advancement that we should all embrace and celebrate? Or is it something we should be worried about? This lesson examines these key opposing views through two TED Talks and a reading. It includes a seminar discussion using these sources as evidence.

This ‘Artificial Intelligence’ lesson book includes 6-10 hours of content:

  • Exploring the topic and linking personal experience.
  • Creating and writing a definition.
  • Discussing well-known films linked to A.I.
  • Reading a 800-word text by Stanford University on a 100-year study into A.I
  • Identifying the key points in the reading text and writing a summary.
  • Discussing the authors ideas in the text and applying critical thinking through writing a response.
  • Listening, taking notes and answering comprehension questions on a TED Talk Lecture on How can AI save our humanity?
  • Listening, taking notes and answering test-type questions on a TED Talk Lecture on Can we build AI without losing control over it?
