AI Academic Speaking
Hi everyone,
We are pleased to introduce the AI-Supported Academic Speaking 10-Lesson Workbook (includes 10 audio-supported model responses); a practical resource designed to help international students develop strong, confident academic speaking skills essential for university success.

The workbook also supports Academic English teachers, helping them stay ahead in the rapidly evolving landscape of AI use in the classroom.

This resource directly complements the AI-Supported Academic Reading (here), AI-Supported Academic Writing (here) and AI-Supported Listening (here) workbooks by developing the spoken communication skills that underpin effective participation in university study. Students learn to structure short responses, manage seminar interaction, use cautious language, and present qualified arguments: skills that are critical for active contribution in seminars, discussions, and presentations.

AI tools are integrated in a carefully controlled and transparent way to support evaluation, comparison, and reflection after speaking rather than replace independent judgement or generate responses. This ensures students remain cognitively engaged, build genuine academic speaking confidence, and maintain academic integrity. Ideal for EAP, foundation, pre-sessional, and undergraduate support programmes
