Hi everyone,
Welcome to our May Newsletter. This month, we’re excited to share a new business research report lesson and video. The report highlights the role of digital marketing in SMEs and guides students in analysing secondary data and structuring a formal research report. The lesson supports learners in understanding the key sections of a report: executive summary/abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. Activities include matching tasks, gap fills, reordering exercises, identifying grammatical features, model text analysis and more. We hope the resource provides a clear and supportive route into research-based writing.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support, and keep an eye out for more new content coming soon.

What is a business research report?

An academic report is a structured document that presents information, analysis, and findings on a specific topic or research question. It is typically written in a formal style and follows a clear format, including sections such as an executive summary introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. Academic reports are commonly used in educational and research settings to communicate the outcomes of investigations, experiments, or studies, and they emphasise evidence-based reasoning, critical analysis, and clarity of presentation (AEUK, 2025).
