Information

We’re looking to buy academic English lessons for our website. The lessons / worksheets  can be on any topic based around any skill (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar or vocabulary). We’re interested in absolutely anything from a single sheet of grammar exercises to full academic reading texts with test questions. You send it to us (see details below), we’ll evaluate it and offer you a price.

Lesson Criteria

The lesson

  • It must be based on academic English (International students going to or at university).
  • Student levels: B1/ B2 / C1.
  • It must be your own work (not taken from university, school, college teaching departments or course books, etc…).
  • It must be paraphrased work not directly copied (unless you have permission).
  • All texts must include references and traceable links to sources.
  • All links to any sources used must be open-source (TED Talks, YouTube, Gov.sites, etc…)
  • All images must include payment receipts or royalty-free links. 
  • Absolutely anything considered from a single page document to complete lessons with full teacher notes.

The owner:

  • You will sign a copyright transfer agreement to transfer ownership of the lesson over to us.
  • You will sign a plagiarism document to legally declare that the work is yours.

Employment

  • This is not an employment opportunity for a material writer or a commission of work. We are only interested in something you have already created and would like to sell. Please don’t contact us asking what we would like you to create!

Prices

    • We are willing to pay a fair price for a product from £30 – £150 but of course this is very dependent on the writer’s EAP experience and academic writing ability.

Payment

All payments for lessons or worksheets will be through these three methods.

  1. STRIPE
  2. PayPal
  3. Internet Bank Transfer 

All payments will be subjected to a transaction fee. This is dependent on the seller’s location in the world. The transaction fee is approximately between 2 -5%. Academic English UK will provide all potential Sellers with a detailed invoice for their product including all payments and fee deductions before the point of sale.

Sales Agreement

This sales agreement (the ‘agreement’) dated this _______ (day) _____ (month) _____ (year) between

Of the first part

And

Academic English UK of 1 Vicarage Road, Exeter, Devon. UK (the buyer)

Of the second part

In consideration of the covenants and agreements contained in Sales Agreement the parties to the Agreement agree as follows:

Sale of goods

  1. The seller will sell and transfer to the Buyer the following goods and perform the below services on a before a specific date agreed.
  • Digital products (English lessons / worksheets) in a Word Document format.
  1. The Seller will provide the following services to the buyer.
  • Material Writing

Purchase Price

  1. The Buyer will accept the Goods and pay for the Goods with the sum of £_____ (GBP) (the ‘Purchase Price’). This price will be the agreed price made through email correspondence before the signing of this contract. All monies will be paid by internet money transfer (STRIPE / PayPal) or Bank Transfer as required in clause 6 of this Agreement. The money will ONLY be paid on receipt of the digital product and three signed documents (Sales Agreement, Copyright Transfer, Plagiarism Declaration). 
  2. The Seller and the Buyer both acknowledge the sufficiency of this consideration. In addition to the Purchase Price specified in this Agreement, the amount of any present or future use, excise, or similar tax applicable to the sale of the Goods will be paid by the Seller. Extra costs will include international money transfers taxes at a cost of 5%. This money will be deducted from the final payment and included on the invoice. 
  3. The Purchase Price is inclusive of Value Added Tax, and is payable by the Buyer unless the Buyer provides theSeller with a tax exemption certificate acceptable to the applicable taxing authorities, in which case the amount ofsales tax will be subtracted from the Purchase Price payable by the Buyer.

Payment

  1. The Buyer will make payment for the Goods at the time when, and at the place where, the Goods are received by the Buyer or, in the alternative, when any document of title or registrable bill of sale, bearing any necessary endorsement, is tendered to the Buyer.

Delivery of Goods

  1. The Goods will be deemed received by the Buyer when delivered to the Buyer through a digital correspondence including the lesson / worksheet Word Document attachment. This correspondence will be through email to academicenglishuk@gmail.com.
  2. The Seller warrants that: (1) the Seller is the legal owner and creator of the Goods; (2) the Goods are free from all liensand incumbrances;(3) the Seller has the right to sell the Goods; and (4) the Seller will warrant and defend the title of theGoods against any and all copyright / plagiarism claims and demands of all persons.
  3. The Seller warrants that the Goods will be delivered free of the rightful claim of any person arising from patent or trademark infringement.
  4. The Buyer has been given a clear true written explanation of the goods whereby the seller has been honest and answered all questions truthfully. The seller agrees to send the specific document that was discussed in previous email communications for the price offered. Any change in the product, or a disparity in explanation and said document the Buyer has the right to cancel the transaction and return the product without payment.

Title

  1. Title to the goods will remain with the seller until digital delivery and actual receipt of the product by the Buyer. The seller agrees to sign this Sales Agreement, a Copyright Transfer and a Plagiarism Declaration document at the point of sell. If all/any of these documents have not been signed the Buyer can withhold payment until this has been achieved.

Security Interest

  1. The Seller retains a security interest in the Goods until paid in full.

Inspection

  1. Inspection will be made by the Buyer at the time and place of delivery.
  2. If the product is not as described the buyer has the right to withhold payment. Any refund will include a 5% administration fee.

Claims

  1. The Buyer’s failure to give notice of any claim within 10 days from the date of delivery will constitute anunqualified acceptance of the Goods and a waiver by the Buyer of all claims with respect to the Goods.

Plagiarism / Copyright claims

  1. The seller has signed an agreement that the goods sold to the buyer are their own work. If it arises that a product sold to the Buyer is subject to a copyright or plagiarism claim in the future, then this contract states that the Seller is solely responsible. All copyright claims will be directed to the Seller, and it is the Seller’s responsibility to face all court cases and associated fines.

Mediation

  1. If any dispute relating to this Agreement between the Seller and the Buyer is not resolved through informal discussion within 14 days from the date a dispute arises, the parties agree to submit the issue before a mediator. The decision of the mediator will not be binding on the parties. Any mediator must be a neutral party acceptable to both the Seller and the Buyer.The cost of any mediations will be paid by the Seller.

General Provisions

  1. All representations and warranties of the Seller contained in this Agreement will survive the closing of thisAgreement.
  2. The Buyer may not assign its right or delegate its performance under this Agreement without the prior writtenconsent of the Seller, and any attempted assignment or delegation without such consent will be void. An assignmentwould change the duty imposed by this Agreement, would increase the burden or risk involved and would impair thechance of obtaining performance or payment.
  3. This Agreement cannot be modified in any way except in writing signed by all the parties to this Agreement.
  4. This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Country of England andthe Seller and the Buyer hereby attorn to the jurisdiction of the Courts of the Country of England.
  5. This Agreement may be executed in counterparts. Facsimile signatures are binding and are considered to be originalsignatures.
  6. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and there are no further items orprovisions, either oral or otherwise. The Buyer acknowledges that it has not relied upon any representations ofthe Seller as to prospective performance of the Goods, but has relied upon its own inspection and investigationof the subject matter.

  1. The Owner agrees that the Assignee shall from here on own the said copyrights in the Work, to benefit and dispose of these rights in any way and at his/her sole discretion.
  1. The Parties agree that this Agreement shall be binding upon the legal successors and assigns.
  1. The Owner agrees to sign all necessary papers to procure registration of, or as further necessary to affect the assignment under this Agreement, as and where necessary.

Academic English UK Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is using, without acknowledgement, someone else’s ideas or work.

Academic English UK will not accept any text that contains work that is not your own, without clearly indicating this in the text (fully acknowledging your sources using the rules of the specified academic referencing style). This is committing ‘plagiarism’ and is considered academic misconduct by Academic English UK.

Plagiarism in a text is:

  • copying word-for-word directly from a text or other source.
  • paraphrasing or summarising from a text or other source very closely.
  • using statistics or facts from another person or source without acknowledgment.  
  • copying or downloading figures, photographs, pictures or diagrams without acknowledging the sources or paying a royalty.
